(Yoosuf) 12 : 50
وَقَالَ الْمَلِكُ ائْتُونِي بِهِ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُ الرَّسُولُ قَالَ ارْجِعْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَاسْأَلْهُ مَا بَالُ النِّسْوَةِ اللَّاتِي قَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي بِكَيْدِهِنَّ عَلِيمٌ
And the king said: "You bring him to me". But when the messenger came to him he said: "Return to your master and ask him what about the women who cut their hands; indeed my Lord is well knowing of their plans".
Yoosuf wanted to know about the stand of Zuleika (wife of the chief) and those women who cut their fingertips by seeing him. By that he wants the king to declare his innocence to the public and wants to avoid further such issues in the future.
